ABOUT
PASOFino instructs Salsa "LA Style On1" and "NY Style On2" in Atlanta and around the U.S. Under the direction of Jose Maldonado and Lucy Lu, our training program teaches absolute beginners through professional dancers footwork, partnerwork, styling, spinning, performance technique, musicality and history, while promoting the essence of its art form.
WHO IS JOSE "PASOFINO” MALDONADO?
Jose Maldonado was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, and a graduated Plastics Engineer from UMASS. Jose Maldonado brings with him 11 years of experience as a Latin Dancer and instructor. Founder and choreographer of "PASOFino Latin Dance Company" in Atlanta, GA since 2004, Jose has performed through out North America sharing his passion and knowledge for the dance. Very well known as technical and smooth lead. He has been trained in Modern Dance, Afrocuban Folklore (Yoruba and Rumba and social Dances), Salsa On1 & On2, Cha Cha and Ballroom dancing Techniques.
Jose Maldonado has choreographed for several TV shows and musical videos as well as earned its presence on some of the world's most prestigious stages such as the Puerto Rico, Bermuda, Mexico, Miami, Orlando, Chicago, Cuba, Charlotte, Houston and Charleston, Los Angeles, Boston, and along side well known Latin stars Oscar De Leon, Grupo Niche, Gilberto Santa Rosa, El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, Luisito Carrion, Guayacan and Ruben Blades, among others. His dance teams regularly support charity fundraisers to promote the art form and raise money for charitable organizations.
WHO IS LUCY LU?
Lucy Lu was born in Taiwan, ROC, and moved to US at age of 10. Lucy Lu started dancing Mambo or NY Style Salsa On2 around 2000, and studied with various world-renown instructors and performers such as Candy Mena, Santo Rico, and Eddie Torres, among others.
Lucy has taught workshops in different locations such as North Carolina, South Carolina, and Detroit, MI. Because of Lucy’s talent in styling, techniques, following, and leading ability, she also has traveled to different congresses overseas.
