Chess
- All standard rules apply
(see http://www.uschess.org/)
- Each match will be played in Sudden Death/30 minutes format:
In this format, each player is given 30 minutes. If a player runs out of his 30 minutes time before there is a checkmate, the opponent wins irrespective of current position of his pieces.
If there is a checkmate, before a player runs out of his time, there is a clear winner.
- If there is a stalemate, or if players agree to a draw, they play another Sudden Death/10 minutes game(s) until the tie is resolved.
- A player cannot win with only king or king and bishop left on the board. In such a case, if his opponent runs out of time, it is considered a draw.
